Buying Mountain Property
Buying mountain property should be a happy, exciting activity. If you're seriously considering buying a home for year-round living, a vacation or weekend cabin, a lot for your future dream mountain, or acreage, you may need information and help to make it an enjoyable experience.
Although driving around the Georgia Mountains for any reason is nearly always pleasurable, you might find it frustrating if you are looking for real estate without some guidance. Unlike suburban areas, mountain property is often tucked away and secluded. It may be down a long winding gravel road that isn't yet mapped into GPS systems or up the side of a mountain. Some mountain communities are gated and inaccessible to casual drivers-by.
For these reasons and others, most sellers in the Georgia Mountains work with local real estate companies. You might want to, also. We suggest you choose one local real estate agent to work with you -- someone you feel comfortable with. To be truly represented by an agent through the whole buying process, consider signing a Buyer's Agency Agreement with an agent with the designation of ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative). We'd be pleased to discuss this arrangement with you at any time.
