Ellijay Real Estate

This page is dedicated to providing useful information about Ellijay real estate and is updated, frequently.

Ellijay is the county seat for Gilmer County. At one time the area was primarily agricultural and especially noted for its apple orchards. Although the county still produces more apples than any other in the Georgia, the area is now more diverse with people from all over choosing the area for their second home, for retirement, or for life-style driven relocation. The surrounding mountains (about 20 percent is National Forest) offer many outdoor recreation possibilities, such as hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, hunting, fishing, and boating.

East Ellijay is a separate town adjacent to Ellijay. It has its own mayor, police department, and local laws. East Ellijay’s more liberal pouring statutes have resulted in the attraction of more restaurants than any other nearby area.

Cherrylog (or Cherry Log) is a small community in the north end of Gilmer County, halfway between the towns of Ellijay and Blue Ridge.
