Georgia Mountain Cabin Rental On Mountaintown Creek, Ellijay
River Rest Resort Offering Affordable Luxury and Seasonal Delights!

River Rest Resort is a perfect place to have a real retreat or family vacation. Throw away the laptop (although there is WiFi if you can't), cell, fax machine, and pager. Spend time strolling up and down the lane by the house, fishing in the private waters of a trophy trout stream, unwinding in the hot tub, gazing at a star-studded clear night, and bathing in the noises that surround this north Georgia retreat -- tree frogs at night, the rush of the burbling creek 24/7 from the comfort of the screened porch. You deserve the rest-and-relaxation. This is the ideal location that is secluded, yet not isolated from the amenities you need.

The cabin is a 15 minute drive off Interstate 515 in North Georgia, a 30 minute drive from Amicalola Falls State park, a 25 minute drive from Blue Ridge, a 15-20 minute drive from several apple orchards, 10 minute drive from the fabulous Ellijay Apple Festival, and no distance at all from one of the most beautiful sections of Mountaintown Creek. It's a secluded cabin on a private drive in a refreshing environment that has something elegant and enjoyable for all styles and preferences: trout fishing and tubing in your front yard, a hot tub, a clean, mountain creek to splash in, gourmet kitchen, cozy den for the enjoyment of TV, a wood burning fireplace, and a decor that appeals to all with finer tastes.
The cabin is also near other exciting, outdoor activity sites (golf course, horse back riding, hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting).
The creek front cabin is spacious and will comfortably accommodate 2-6 adult friends, a family of four to six, or 3 couples traveling together. It's of course, ideal for a romantic getaway for two.
River Rest is nestled in a secluded area on the Mountaintown Creek -- only four other cabins nearby. One cabin is next door to River Rest, the others are not visible from the property. There are no properties within sight across the creek, just beautiful undeveloped wooded land. All paved roads, up until the last mile before the cabin. Then, the road turns to gravel, but it is accessible for all types of vehicles. The air seems to feel just a little bit lighter and cooler, and the sleep is always much deeper and peaceful here. It's a short 15-minute drive from the Ellijay square and local grocery, shopping, and dining options.
The creek by the cabin is a trout fisher's local pilgrimage site and flows like a gentle river -- about 60 feet wide, 1 to 4 feet deep, and perfect for fly fishing, wading, and floating. Local anglers call Mountaintown Creek "one the most picturesque and beautiful trout streams in North Georgia and is quietly becoming one of the best trophy trout streams in the state."
Enjoy the beauty of a unique, Native American fish-trap in Mountaintown creek on cabin property. Children can spend hours splashing and floating. In the morning, wake to a dip in the hot tub or creek, followed by a breakfast on the porch with brewed coffee, pancakes, syrup, and local apples. At night, wrap yourself in a cotton throw on the screened porch and listen to the burbling water. Tubes for floating are provided in season.
This beautiful creek front cabin features unique, antique and traditional décor and amenities. The first floor has 1 bedroom with a queen-sized pencil post bed, 1 bathroom which was updated recently with shower and tub, den, kitchen, dining area with 19th century tilt-top breakfast table, and screened porch and deck.
The second floor has 1 bedroom with 1 queen-sized, carved post bed, 1 bathroom which was updated recently with a shower, loft with sleeper sofa, and large walk-in closet. All one-of-a-kind furnishings are selected to make you feel special. You truly feel at home, versus in a rental cabin, at River Rest.
The screened porch has charming, white wicker furniture including a dining table that seats 4, ceiling fans, and rocking chairs. You'll want to sit and stay as long as possible to play some checkers, read a book, or dine with friends and family. The deck has a picnic table for four, and is a great spot for morning coffee.
The hot tub is an easy few steps from the door. It is private, faces an undeveloped creekfront lot, seats 5 people, and is accessible from the deck with a great view of the creek.
Last, and our favorite, the cabin has a small and growing "Lending library." Need a book to read while you are here? Can't finish it during your stay? Fine. Keep it and return it upon your next stay. Leave a book for our other guests if you bring one of your own.
Your friends and family will thank you for selecting a special place for building memories, having fun, and relaxing. River Rest offers a home away from home. You need the rest, and you're always at home at River Rest.
