Selling Mountain Property
Selling mountain property, yourself, can present additional challenges to an already often complicated process. There are several reasons for this.
- The mountains are a resort area for many. Your home or cabin may be a second home, and you may not live in the area year-round.
- Many properties are tucked away in secluded areas - down a long, winding gravel road or up on the side of a mountain. These may be difficult to find for prospective buyers. Some mountain roads don't even show up on GPS.
- Properties that may interest prospective buyers are often widely scattered over several counties. Drive-by buyers are less likely than in a suburban neighborhood or subdivision, and, some mountain communities are gated.
